1. SETTING UP YOUR TIER LADDER
Marketing → Loyalties lets you configure four tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum — each with its own:
- Points-earn rate — how many points a customer earns per dollar spent at that tier.
- Qualifying threshold — the spend level required to reach it. Tier thresholds are required to strictly increase as you go up the ladder — the system won't let you accidentally configure Silver to require more spend than Gold, protecting you from a simple misconfiguration that would confuse customers and staff alike.
2. HOW CUSTOMERS EARN AND MOVE UP
Points accrue automatically as a customer makes purchases, based on their current tier's earn rate. As their total qualifying spend crosses a tier's threshold, they move up automatically — no manual review needed. A customer's current tier, points balance, and full earning/redemption history are all visible right on their own customer record (see the Customer Management guide).
3. MANUAL ADJUSTMENTS — WITH ACCOUNTABILITY
Sometimes a points balance needs a human touch — a goodwill award, a correction for a system issue. Staff can manually adjust a customer's point balance directly, and every single adjustment is kept in a full, permanent audit history — never a silent balance change with no record of who did it or why.
4. HOW IT CONNECTS TO THE REST OF THE SYSTEM
- Customer records — a customer's Loyalty tab shows their tier, points balance, and history directly.
- POS / Sales — purchases at checkout are what earn points automatically in the first place.
- Segments — loyalty tier and points activity can factor into customer segments used for targeted promotions.
5. WHY IT SCALES FROM SMB TO ENTERPRISE
Small business
Turn it on with default tiers and start rewarding repeat customers with zero setup effort.
Growing business
Tune tier thresholds and earn rates as you learn what actually drives repeat purchases.
Enterprise
A full, permanent audit trail on every manual adjustment gives loss-prevention and customer-service management real oversight over who's awarding points and why, at scale.
