1. CASH & BANK ACCOUNTS
Accounting → Cash & Banks lets you:
- Add New Account — set up a Cash or Bank account with a Name, Code, Account Type, Location, and Opening Balance.
- Deposit / Withdraw — record money moving into or out of an account.
- Transfer — move money between two of your own accounts (a Destination Account field lets you record an internal transfer cleanly, distinct from an external deposit or withdrawal).
- Reconcile Account — compare your book balance against a bank statement as of a chosen date, entering a Reason for Adjustment for any difference, and posting the adjusting entry needed to bring them back in line. Every account's current Balance is always live and visible on the list, filterable by Code, Name, and Location.
2. CASH MANAGER — RUNNING A REAL CASH DRAWER
Accounting → Cash Manager is built specifically for a physical till/register shift, not just bookkeeping:
Cash drawer shift
- Open — start a shift with a Counter Operator and an Opening amount, marking the drawer Active.
- Cash In / Cash Out (Today) — running totals of everything that's moved through the drawer during the current shift.
- Drops / Payouts — record cash removed from the drawer mid-shift (a bank drop, a till payout) as its own tracked event.
- Close — end the shift, comparing what the system Expects the drawer to contain against the Actual counted amount, so any over/short is caught and recorded right at shift-close, not discovered days later.
- Net Cash Flow — the shift's overall in/out summary once closed. It gives you the same end-of-shift drawer-count discipline a dedicated retail POS system provides, but built directly into your accounting instead of living in a separate till app.
3. HOW IT CONNECTS TO THE REST OF THE SYSTEM
- Chart of Accounts / General Ledger — every deposit, withdrawal, transfer, and reconciliation posts through the same guaranteed-balanced posting engine as the rest of the product.
- POS / Cash Register — cash sales taken at the register feed directly into Cash Manager's running totals for the shift.
- Cash Flow Dashboard — your current account balances and today's cash movement are exactly what populates the Cash Flow dashboard's headline numbers.
4. WHY IT SCALES FROM SMB TO ENTERPRISE
Small business
One bank account, the occasional reconciliation — set up and running in minutes.
Growing business
Cash Manager gives retail operations real shift accountability — who opened the drawer, what was expected versus what actually got counted — without needing a separate till-management product.
Enterprise / multi-location
Multiple cash and bank accounts per location, each reconciled independently, give finance a clean, location-aware picture of where the cash actually sits.
